Description: This is a one day introductory course into fire alarm and detection covering the different types of detectors, sounders, Manual Call Points, panels, wiring configurations, standards and codes of practice

Topics:  Introduce the basic elements of fire
 Cover the difference between detection & notification
 Discuss the principle of operation for all the different types of detectors
 Identify various methods of notification devices including sounders and strobes
 Discuss the function of a fire alarm control panel
 Explain the different types of wiring
 Clarify the difference between standards and codes of practice

Other information: All classes will be conducted 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (local time), unless otherwise noted. The instructor reserves the right to make changes to the daily schedule during the course, as needed.
